The opacity of academic prose arises from the epistemological imperative to operationalize disciplinary jargon, facilitating intra-specialized discourse while obfuscating heterogenous interpretive accessibility and perpetuating a recursive dialectic of erudition and exclusion. https://t.co/g3wJfgQcwn

I love being a PhD student. it feels like I’m expected to be miserable or overwhelmed. but as a first-gen student, I’ve had to overcome a lot worse to get here. to read and write and learn for a living feels like a gift that I hope I never take for granted, inshallah 🙏🏽

It is a cool video. People will see this and say “PhDs are over” but the truth is that it actually means that with an LLM this guy could have worked on a far harder problem during his PhD because he had an AI assistant force multiplying his efforts. https://t.co/Mqk6ekyTdl

dude how tf did we take sand and make it into 3nm chips that can do numerical computations billions of times per second, and we use those chips to make machines "learn" !?!?!? magic does not exist in the real world because this is what real magic is.

day ???/??? ascii art generation i have successfully added a performant terminal rendering pipeline! frames are rendered as and when they are decoded now (what you see in the video is real time) here's the opening to Serial Experiments Lain on wezterm. 60 fps, locked. with… https://t.co/bZCpj0hhzK

Apparently, lemons are not naturally occurring. They're a hybrid by cross breeding a bitter orange and a citron. So basically life never gave us lemons, we created them ourselves. https://t.co/gIFVEQlEui

AI is incredible at writing code. But that's not enough to create software. You need to set up a dev environment, install packages, configure DB, and, if lucky, deploy. It's time to automate all this. Announcing Replit Agent in early access—available today for subscribers: https://t.co/WCASOez82f

Introducing Project Sid: the first simulations of 1000+ truly autonomous agents collaborating in a virtual world, w/ emergent economy, culture, religion, and government Humans are the only species to land the moon, because we can cooperate at a vast scale Can AI do the same? https://t.co/bh2OHDJWU7

"Mastery is the best goal because the rich can’t buy it, the impatient can’t rush it, the privileged can’t inherit it, and nobody can steal it. You can only earn it through hard work. Mastery is the ultimate status." @sivers

@emializh There's a reason 'school' is derived from the Greek 'scholē', meaning leisure. The life of the mind is ultimately a luxury and unfortunately we don't appreciate it enough as students.

I studied at IIT Bombay. I chose to do my PhD. I was 24 years old and unhappy. I did my PhD at Kyoto University. Always dreamed of working at big tech. Couldn't get in. I was 28 and unhappy. Settled for my current work place with mediocre salary. No one expected anything from… https://t.co/jwd45k5xi8

i don't really know how to articulate this but gamedev programmers are on an entire other level to non-games programmers repeatedly needing to solve problems that have never existed before, because the world you're creating them in has never existed changes you as a person
